Screenwriting and One Page Synopsis seminar with Kate Leys

Northern Ireland Screen is hosting a Screenwriting and One Page synopsis seminar aimed at supporting screenwriters and filmmakers who hope to apply for the New Writer Focus scheme. The seminar will be led by script and story editor Kate Leys and will take place via Zoom from 5pm – 8:30pm on Tuesday 11th May.
The session will look at writing a one-page story outline, with focus on; story, structure, character, conflict, and other key elements involved in writing and developing a film story. As well as this, Kate will discuss how to find the core of a story, what to include, how to write something that reads well, what a one-page is for, and the real value of telling a short story.
Kate Leys has worked on many feature films, short films, and TV series all over the world; she has been Head of Development at several companies including Film4 in the UK, where she was part of the small team responsible for commissioning and developing some of the UK’s most successful feature films including Four Weddings and a Funeral and Trainspotting.
