Academy Programmes
Screen Academies provide training, mentorship and exposure to the film, TV, animation, games and VFX industry for young people aged 16-19 who are not currently at or enrolled in university. Local industry professionals share their expert knowledge and lead the hands-on industry standard training.
Screen Academies is supported by the Department of Communities through Northern Ireland Screen and delivered by the three Creative Learning Centres in Belfast, Derry~Londonderry and Armagh.
Six academy programmes include:
- BFI Film Academy
- Animation Academy
- Games Development Academy
- VFX Academy
- Production Design Academy
- Construction Academy
These academies run through the year with the BFI and Animation running between September and December and the Games and VFX between January and March. The Production Design and Construction academies will be delivered at a time that suits the film industry.
