The Freelands Foundation Emergency Fund is part of a total of £3m of funding committed by the Freelands Foundation to support artists and creative practitioners across the UK during the pandemic. Opening on Thursday 7 May, the fund will provide hardship grants of £1,500-2,500 per person. These will be assessed by need and will be available to all artists and freelancers working in the visual arts, including those not eligible for existing public funds.

In addition, the Foundation has contributed £1m to Creative Scotland’s Bridging Bursary, and £500k to Arts Council of Wales Urgent Response Fund. a-n hopes that this initiative will help support the most vulnerable in the arts sector across all four nations of the UK.
