Tyrone Productions’ CBBC documentary My Life: Champion of the World has won the IFTA for Children’s and Young People’s, at the annual IFTA Gala Television Awards ceremony which were held in Dublin on Friday 7th October.
Produced by Patricia Moore, and filmed and directed by Ronan McCloskey, My Life: Champion of the World was broadcast on CBBC and RTE, and was developed with funding from Northern Ireland Screen via Invest NI.
The documentary followed two young dancers – Lauren from Ireland and Orla from the US – as they prepared to compete against each other in the highly-charged Irish Dancing World Championships in Montreal. It gave young viewers an insight into the determination, drive and passion of young people all over the world who dedicate their lives to Irish dancing.
